When Macao’s Cotai and Cotai Strip® hotels are finished, they will be some of the most exciting hotels in the world to travel and stay in. It is still a few years away before everything is built, but in 2007 the world will witness the first of the huge Cotai Strip® hotels to open -The Venetian Macao.
The Cotai tourism industry will really pick up steam after the Venetian Macao opens. In 2009, many more Cotai and Cotai Strip® hotels will open, and finally by 2010 most of the Cotai hotels will be complete. And, if everything goes well, many of Macau’s Cotai resorts could eventually expand in size to add even more entertainment, restaurants and nightlife options.
Although much of Cotai will be part of Las Vegas Sand’s Cotai Strip®, it won’t be like the Strip in Las Vegas. Macao’s weather will be hot, humid, and unpleasant for the most part, so many of the Cotai Strip® hotels will have indoor walkways so people can walk from one hotel to the other.
